- This
bloke at the bottom
is
in fact the guy who took the picture. With no one else to
hold the camera, and no tripod, this would be the only way
he could put himself in the picture - by bringing the photo
to PhotoAltering.co.uk.
- Notice
how in each case
the
extra people have been taken from different photographs of
the same scene, taken at the same time. This was h and
made it easier, but fear not, we can stick anyone into anything.
- The
original photograph
is
a lovely snapshot - Everyone smiling, marvellous weather,
everyone looking at the camera, no-one with their eyes half
closed or picking their nose - It's perfect except for a few
faults mainly caused by the usual problems we all face when
trying to do big group shots like this, the main one being
that it's difficult to fit everyone in.
- There
was a wall behind
the
photographer, so he couldn't get far enough back. There were
also vertical pillars on the right and left, which meant the
photo had to be taken at a slight angle, through the gap between
the pillars, which made the people on the right further away
from the camera, and therefore apparently smaller than the
people on the left. So notice how in the original, some people's
heads on the left look almost twice as big as some of those
on the right, because they're nearer. We had to fix this.
- People
on the left also
looked
too fat, because of the stretching effect you often get at
the edge of pictures taken with a wide-angle lens. We fixed
that too, and slimmed the fatties on the left. (Wanna lose
weight? Bring your snaps of yourself to Photoaltering.co.uk.
We can believably slim the way you look).
- We
also straightened
the
picture, which was leaning drunkenly downwards on the right.
(more than likely it was the photographer who wasn't exactly
sober) Notice how in the original, the blonde woman in sunglasses
at the extreme right looks like she's almost sliding down
out of the edge of the shot. In the altered version she's
now sitting comfortably upright, quite regally in fact.
- We
then boosted the
colours
up from that ageing yellowing 1980's look it had, and also
bumped up the contrast to give it more life (if you don't
exactly want glowing technicolour, we can make the colours
as soft and subtle as you like. We can even turn a colour
shot into black and white or vice versa, or sepia brown, to
make it look old, or any tint or vomity colour you want.
|
- Finally
we sharpened
the
focus, and also gently darkened the bottom edge of the picture
to make that distracting bloke who's lying down posing in
the bright white t-shirt not stand out so much. Probably a
very nice bloke, but in that pose, and that t-shirt, he stands
out too much.
- The
real star of the picture
our
client, who's party it was, is the bloke sitting just behind
him with the dark hair, moustache and black t-shirt. See how
he's more noticeable now in the altered version, as he should
be, while the white t-shirt bloke now looks less important.
- These
are all the careful
and
subtle little things that we at PhotoAltering pay attention
to when we're given the responsibility of fixing a photo like
this, and turning a nice but imperfect photo into a more interesting
and attractive one. Quite apart from fitting everyone in of
course...
- There's
a couple of dozen
other
little things we did to this photo as well, too numerous and
boring to list here, such as fixing the scratches and white
dust spots on the original picture, and we even take note
of whether someone we've stuck in is casting a shadow or not
- if they aren't, and they should be, we paint one in.
- It
all adds up to a
completely
transformed photo with a lot of careful work spent on it that
we think you'll decide is worth the money to make a treasured
photo perfect.
- If
you have a problem
we can fix it. We can make a wrong photo right, and make a
good photo great - And also sprinkle in a bit of magic to
turn an impossibility into a reality - and something nice
to hang on your wall...
- The
bottom line is
now that we've shown you all the alterations we've made to
that photo, you can probably now spot 'the joins' easily.
But if we hadn't told you, chances are, you'd never have noticed
anything odd, and wouldn't have looked twice except to admire
it.
Go on, be honest.
- And
anyone else seeing
a
photo like this hanging on your wall at home, or on your desk
at work, will simply say "That's a nice photo, did you
take it yourself?", and you can simply grin to yourself
with a knowing smile and say "Yes".
- That's
what PhotoAltering
are all about. Try us today. Post or email us any treasured
or problem photo or enquiry. And we'll fix it for you. You'll
know where the joins are, but no-one else will.
